For part of the summer – and to avoid having a backlog of computer work while the children are on school holidays – I’ve been assisting some of my friends who needed two photographers at wedding days. It’s a really special, supportive network of female photographers; lovely to work alongside my mates, and to be concentrating on slightly different areas and angles of the day. So, to Angela Ward-Brown, Mia Hooper, Sharron Gibson, and Zoe Collyer, thanks for having me along, and see some of you for more soon! It works both ways of course, and for the large West London wedding I’m sharing here today, I was fortunate to have Anna Rowlandson with me – who was then able to photograph the groom getting ready and guests arriving at church, while I concentrated on time with the bride and her family. (Anna makes a great road trip buddy too, by the way – so much fun driving home singing loudly to Delirious!).
Here we are, then, with the details of Katherine and Marc’s beautiful wedding day – boy, was it a roasting hot day, and one that their families and guests seemed to thoroughly enjoy too. When I first met up with Katherine and her parents several months ago, she told me that their first baby was expected a little while before their wedding date; so what a delight to meet baby Daisy and for her to have a record of being there when her mum and dad were married – she has a great talent for smiling broadly at all the right moments!
Starting off at home, we then gathered at the fantastically friendly St Mary’s Hanwell for the church ceremony, before heading over to The Lensbury Hotel in Teddington Lock for the party time. There was a tremendous feeling of family and laughter at this wedding and I hope it shines through in the photographs. Thanks so much to Kat, Marc and Daisy for inviting Anna & I to record this special day for you!
