I first met Hazel and Simon near the beginning of last year as they planned their wedding at Clock Barn Hall Godalming. They had fantastic ideas for an autumn celebration and had really thought through what they wanted out of their wedding photography. As usual on the wedding day, there was a bit of rain-dodging when it came to portraits after the ceremony, but we were thrilled when it stopped for 2 minutes as the sun was going down. I’m so glad that Simon and Hazel didn’t mind a quick dash outside between courses of their meal, to grab their photographs at the well with an autumn sunset lighting up the sky so beautifully for a brief moment! It was exactly what they’d hoped for and these are amongst their favourites of the pictures.
Hazel’s lace Maggie Sottero gown looked perfect on her, while Simon’s blue and orange checked suit was a brilliant choice for a vibrant autumn day. Simon is a butcher in Godalming so I really liked that he chose occupation-themed cufflinks – especially since the reception involved a carve-your-own meal, appointed guests with aprons and chefs’ hats, and delicious rib-eye beef supplied by Godalming Butchers and prepared by caterers JMK Events. Clock Barn looked suitably autumnal and welcoming with pumpkin centrepieces and gin-themed table settings, while the evening guests were able to enjoy even more delicious food ideas – a special tiered pork pie cake (amazing) and tower of a selection of cheeses.
I’m a bit of a keen stargazer so it was wonderful to see my favourite Ursa Major – the Plough constellation – low and clearly twinkling in the October evening sky as I left. Here are a few snippets of their lovely day.
