This winter season I’ve been putting together a selection of my landscape photography to exhibit with Guildford Arts at Clyde and Co in the town centre. I was delighted to have been asked, and must admit that the tricky part is deciding what to show! I narrowed it down to four large frames. I think the hard decision is detaching yourself emotionally from the image, and the effort you went to / how you remember feeling when you took it, because these factors aren’t relevant to the audience. I hope in some way, though, to make an emotional connection with the viewer and engage them in that way. These four frames have been hung in a bright alcove and paired with a sculpture collection by artist Jill Sutcliffe – I love the organic shapes, reminiscent of the sea, with the textures and colours of the glaze; it seems such a lovely match to have them displayed together.
These four large images, mounted and framed by the excellent Otters Pool Studio, are currently for sale in the exhibition catalogue; I’m also working on getting a print store up and running here on the website. The shop will initially sell loose, A4 art prints of selected landscape photographs, with free shipping to UK addresses. Please let me know what images you’d like to see in there! For the moment, here I am at the private view evening the other week – thrilled to chat to visitors and to see my work on display!
